Money Heist: The Professor Bids Popular Show Goodbye in Emotional Post

Curtains in the Netflix Series Money Heist will finally be closing for Spanish actor Alvaro Morte, who played 'The Professor' in the widely acclaimed TV series.

The show will only run its upcoming Season 5 before officially exiting the stage later this year. Taking to Instagram, The Professor in a short clip thanked his behind the scenes team, co-actors, fans and everyone that made his cameo a success, visibly getting emotional as he broke the news regarding his exit and how he would miss his character.

"Leaving for the last time the set of @lacasadepapel Words are unnecessary,” he said. "Thankful for so much, for everything. To the fans (the first ones, of course), to the entire team of @vancouvermediaproducciones and @netflixes @netflix And you, my dear Professor. I will miss having such a good time with you. Thank you," he added.

Having been struck by the sad news, The Professor's colleagues and fans took to the comment section to express their reactions as their favourite actor prepared to leave the scenes officially.

@LikaperoOiffical said: "You did it, baby... you f*cking did it...Thanks for the ride, it sure was something special..."

@ClaraAlavarado: "I get excited seeing your gesture partner. How nice! Thank you so much."

@Juanjotrainer: "You are so big. That teacher has been the teacher of millions of people. Great actor, and thanks for showing it. Looking forward to seeing the end."

@AlvxMorte: "Well, the day has come. I never thought I would love a character like you so much. Thank you for everything you have given us, that peace of seeing you on screen, each moment of glory enjoyed with your robbery companions."

Others who had bid farewell to their characters are Alonso, Miguel Herrán (Rio) and Jaime Lorente (Denver).

Money Heist had its original run of 15 episodes on a Spanish network, the Antena 3. The series had its pilot running between May 2, 2017, and November 23, the same year.

Since its advent four years ago, the series has received several awards, including Best Drama Series at the 46th International Emmy Awards and the Critical Acclaim for its sophisticated plot, interpersonal dramas, direction, and trying to innovate the Spanish television.
